Sock It to Me has been in the "crazy socks" business since 2004 selling fun, funky socks and underwear. When it came time to refresh their sock and hip forms, Sock It To me choose Marvelux to help transform their visual concepts into amazing, show stoping visual displays.

When evaluating their options, key was that their new forms had to be more durable than their current fibreglass forms and that sustainability and recyclability was essential. "More and more, this is the common message that we are hearing from the market as they are shunning fibreglass in search of a better solution" stated Global Account Manager, Aaron Frost.

MARVELUX®mannequins are virtually indestructible because they are made from P2Resin® a PC (Polycarbonate) material that has been engineered to our specifications. By combining both new and recycled materials, we deliver the most durable, sustainable, recyclable mannequin available in the marketplace. Not to mention, they look awesome!

We have lots of exciting things planned for the New Year starting with EuroShop 2017 and GlobalShop 2017. This year, there are two amazing retail trade fairs where you come and visit with us to see what’s new and exciting at MARVELUX® and learn more about how we are transforming the mannequin industry. “There are a few things that help make us stand out, starting with the manufacturing process and the material and based on the response from several major retailers, it seems that they also agree that MARVELUX® can deliver the needed global solution” states group President and CEO Kevin Atkinson.

As a leader in the supply of hangers to many of the world’s top retailers and brands, we have leveraged our 40 plus years of knowledge and expertise in the supply of eco-friendly solutions in plastic to develop the technology for the design and production of mannequins. The result is a giant leap forward in the industry. Hangerlogic owns and operates our factories, so this means we can deliver a total quality / cost effective global solution that’s supported by our commitment to social compliance, sustainability and service excellence.

The key is the material. MARVELUX® mannequins are made from P2Resin® which is a PC (Polycarbonate) material that has been engineered to our specifications. Often referred to as “plastic steel” this term helps to describe just how durable a MARVELUX® mannequin is when compared to any other mannequin material on the market. Imagine a descriptive like; virtually indestructible, light weight, finished without paint, and truly recyclable used to describe a mannequin! That’s a MARVELUX® mannequin! When put to the test, simply no other mannequin can stand up to a MARVELUX® mannequin.

We are excited about being able to exhibit at both of these great venues since it offers more retailers around the world the opportunity to seek us out. “Whether looking for an off the shelf mannequin or a custom solution, retailers look to us to help them to create the ultimate in a visual display that will connect them with their customers” states Global Account Manager, Aaron Frost.

Marvelux® is under the Hangerlogic® banner which is a brand trusted worldwide.

Please "Save the Dates" on your calendar as these will be the retail design trade show events of the year! For updates, check in often and to schedule a meeting, please write us at info@marvelux.com. We look forward to seeing you soon!

“We’re innovators, that’s how we’re known to our customers, so when it comes to finding a partner to find a solution for the task at hand, customers choose Hangerlogic for our proven capabilities and reliability to deliver.” states Group President, Kevin Atkinson.

As a leader in the supply of hangers to many of the worlds top retailers and brands, we have applied our knowledge and expertise in providing eco-friendly solutions in plastic to advance the technology used in the design and production of Mannequins. The result is a giant leap forward in the industry.

We knew we were onto something, so it was our expectation that the introduction of Marvelux® to the market at GlobalShop 2015 would generate a lot of curiosity to learn more about our virtually “indestructible” mannequin. “We were excited to receive such an overwhelming response from several major retailers who were equally as excited to have found that we had the solution.” states Global Account Manager, Aaron Frost.

We are already preparing for GlobalShop 2016 which will be an even bigger event showcasing several new designs. We look forward to seeing you there!

It changes the way we perceive someone or something.

In the Canadian fashion scene, there have been some recent efforts to use awards as way to shine a light on designers, and the specialists who make up this world.

The end goal? Awareness, hype, and giving consumers further reason to do what is done when you like something.

BUY IT.

Recently, an initiative from FASHION Magazine called the Toronto Fashion Awardshighlighted local mavens. In an effort to mix the fashion and consumer world, a function was held to celebrate the best of the best from WMC Fashion Week. Categories included the Best Emerging Designer, Collection, Hair, Makeup, Model, Styling, Menswear and the coveted People's Choice for Best Show. The latter will be announced in the August issue.

We had the opportunity to sit down with some of the winners to explore how they feel these awards will affect their career and what is next. What follows are answers fromPaulina Wonders (Atelier Wonder, Best Emerging Designer), Emeric Rico Tchatchoua(3.Paradis, Best Menswear) and Patrick Vimbor (Mackage, Best Stylist).

What does this win mean to you?

Paulina Wonders: It's definitely a confidence boost and a push to continue forward with my vision. I also feel like this may be the beginning of a new wave of talent and style for WMCFW, a more experimental and youthful approach, which is really exciting.

Emeric Rico Tchatchoua: It's truly an honor and we are very grateful. It's a fantastic recognition for not only us but everybody involves in the project. We couldn't have done without everybody on our innovative and imaginative team.

Patrick Vimbor: Well, I have been styling for 15 years so this confirms that I chose the right job! I truly enjoy what I do and I am always happy when other people like my work.

How do you hope it affects your short and long term career?

PW: There are definitely some effects that are already manifesting themselves. The collection gained a lot more attention and credibility. I think the momentum will be very beneficial to the future projects that I have in store as there is a certain growing interest in what Wonder has to offer.

ERT: I hope it brings more trust and exposure to 3.Paradis. We truly believe that whatever level we are on, we should be thankful where we are as artists, and what part we have in making a difference in the fashion industry. We are so grateful to be able to create beautiful clothes for a living, we basically just want to create more and more, this is what makes us happy in life.

Where can the public find your line?

PW: Our online shop on our website here. We are also working on a few local pop- up shops in Montreal and Toronto to offer a more exclusive and accessible shopping experience within the Wonder universe.

ERT: Different stores across the world such as Contraband Boutique in Toronto and Vancouver (Canada), Autograph Menswear in Birmingham (U.K.), Fame Glory in Hong Kong (H.K.), a temporary showroom in Berlin (Germany) and few more stores around the world.

What makes your line different?

PW: I don't necessarily reference trends when creating my collections. I try and develop them through a storytelling approach and I think that brings a more personal touch to my designs. I create my own prints, I even create or customize my own textiles and I think that brings a more unique look. Having an experimental and "handmade" approach is what differentiates me from others.

ERT: We come from two different corners of the world (Paris and Hong Kong) with a common artistic vision and dream of uniting and embracing all cultures and differences. Our vision is to create unique luxury street visionary style clothing while ignoring disposable trends and not compromising on ethics. 3.Paradis entails its own holy trinity, a perfect harmony between mind, body and soul so that all cultures interact peacefully and in serenity.

What are the top three trends we should look out for?

PW: Copy/Paste Street style, All over Prints, Transparency.

ERT: We just do what we like regardless of what's cool or trendy. We don't really believe in fashion trends anymore. Trends emerge overnight and disappear almost as quickly so we are just trying to always be innovative and challenge ourselves to do better than the season before.

PV: My three favorite trends for spring would be the XL mesh clothing, the ballerina inspired clothes and the monochromatic looks we saw on the runway.

Interesting points of view.

We applaud the efforts of the organizers to shine a light on the fashion world and integrate the ultimate end user. The hope is that winners do see benefits from their win and that consumers are introduced to new designers they can fall in love with. For the next awards in the fall, friendly suggestions would be to have models showcasing the collections and a market where designers and consumers can connect one on one which could encourage sales as well. Ultimately, awards do capture attention for a moment of time, but what is needed (as we all know) is year round sustaining presence. That is at retail, in editorial, and incentives to give consumers incentive to buy local, and Canadian.

As we can see, the talent is present resulting in work that people want to wear.

We just need to buy it.

Instead, it’s rediscovered staying out way past bedtime. At Christopher Shannon, this showed itself in the hair as remnants of a foam party, and as a sweaty glow at Lou Dalton. Fashion East newcomer Charles Jeffrey turned his afternoon presentation – named Loverboy, after the club night he runs – into a daytime rave. Looking a little bit worse for wear has never been so stylish.

Designers clearly think men were missing out on that trend, and the general question of how to dress breasts.Craig Green’s show included black jumpers with white gathered wool over the pecs. Christopher Shannon helped out, too – some of his models wore undone bikini tops as necklaces. Try one next summer. Other men will be copying in no time.

Northern Soul trousers are back

Swooshy wide-legged trousers – a staple of the 70s subculture, that was all about looking good on the dancefloor – are mooted as the new shape for spring. Some of these were sporty, such as those at Astrid Andersen and Craig Green. But the most explicitly Northern came at Topman Design, where they were paired with vests and prints of record-bag patches. On the catwalk, the 90s were evident in slouchy skatewear (Coach), Jordan Catalano-approved jumpers with sleeves down to the knuckles (Joseph) and a collection inspired by pirate radio stations (Liam Hodges). Skate ramp sets at Jimmy Choo and Coach provided the backdrop.

A suede jacket is a wise investment at any time of year

What with this being the spring/summer shows, outerwear wasn’t massive on the catwalk. However, what with this being June in Britain, it was another story for those on the front row. By far and away the most popular choice was a suede jacket pretending to be a denim one – the same shape, just far less 40C-wash-cycle-friendly. Model Robert Konjic, a new addition to the LCM front row, wore one, as did Jack Guinness, Nick Grimshaw and Tinie Tempah.

Unisex fashion is here to stay

It’s no longer just a passing trend. A few brands added their thoughts this season. Coach had girls in their show wearing menswear, while MAN designer Rory Parnell Mooney had male models in knitted skirts. JW Anderson, who has put men in corsets on his catwalk, led the way. Inspired in part by David Bowie, the collection, a bit like the pop star, walked a line between genders.

Cottweiler are ones to watch

For new talent, LCM is chock-a-block. Both Grace Wales Bonner and Alex Mullinsdeserve honourable mentions, but, with Newgen sponsorship for the first time,Cottweiler moved from cult to buzzy brand this season. Founded by Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty in 2012, it’s all about sportswear that looks like it comes from the future. The collection, shown on squash courts in a leisure centre, was all-white, and made of intriguing fabrications like iridescent plastic. Kanye West’s call is only a matter of time.

Household items can now be considered accessories

Forget It bags – for next spring, it’s far more fashionable to carry around a spanner, or even a spoon. JW Anderson transferred the tool kit from the back of the shed to the catwalk. Models in his show wore a brooch worn with tiny charms of a spanner, a ratchet, pliers and an axe. Tom Ford, meanwhile, mentioned the gleam of spoons when talking about the inspiration behind a marble-effect dinner jacket. Namechecking the contents of your cutlery drawer – a sure sign this reveller has settled down to happy domesticity.

LCM (and mankle) ambassador Tinie Tempah on what makes a good show soundtrack

The more eclectic the better: Liam Hodges, the MAN designer, had a rapper do a spoken-word piece. It’s always great when the clothes are inspired by music, as they were with that show.

Dunhill had classic three-piece suits and classical music: That works, because it’s not going to be a 19-year-old going out in Shoreditch buying those suits. Richard James and Hardy Amies are brands that could work with classic rock. It’s like an advert.

Live music is exciting: With Burberry and Oliver Spencer, you get the double whammy of amazing clothes and an incredible musician. A live artist works with the heritage of Burberry, too.

Silence is bad and dodgy mixing jobs aren’t great: The models are walking to the beat, and if it’s too quick or the beat’s out, it can ruin the experience.

You’re looking at collections for six months’ time – so music that is abstract, or experimental production, works. I liked the grime at Maharishi and Caseley-Hayford. It’s like looking into a different world.

LONDON Collections: Menhas cemented London on the fashion map, once again affirming it as the home of modern menswear. It comes as no surprise then, that since LC:M's inception in 2012, London's menswear retail scene has also boomed and is set to continue to do so, with research firm Mintel predicting a 27 per cent rise in UK men's fashion sales between 2013 and 2018. No longer just about Savile Row, the influence of the creativity and variety in the bi-annual LC:M shows has seen a shift in the way that men want to dress, how they spend their money, and where they want to shop. With that, smaller hubs have been springing up from East to West to cater to the capital's male customers.

Every guide book will direct you to the main shopping thoroughfares of Oxford Street and Regent Street, where most of the high street giants have a flagship and Britain's department stores clamber for attention - including Selfridges, the second largest store in the UK after Harrods in Knightsbridge. Also detailed in every Lonely Planet edition will be the more exclusive destinations, Bond Street and Sloane Street, which pull in the wealthiest shoppers from around the globe and for most are a chance to window shop, taking in the temptation that Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Burberry have to offer.

Soho and menswear go hand-in-hand. Stretching from Regent Street to Leicester Square, the area is filled with the best that London has to offer. From vintage finds and bespoke tailors, to Nudie's denim repair shop and weekly queues for Footpatrol's latest drop of Nike Huaraches, Ted's Grooming Room - the traditional Turkish barbershop by Ted Baker - and independent contemporary brands, Berwick Street provides a menswear oasis just a step from Oxford Street's bustle.

At the east end of Soho, just before you hit Regent Street, Carnaby Street has moved on from the Swinging Sixties when it made its name sustaining the styles of the hippies and Mods that were created there. Elements of that era still remain, with labels influenced by its styles and music - Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green, Fred Perry's pop-up dedicated to the floral wreath logo and Ben Sherman - all open on Carnaby Street and the adjacent stretches, Kingly and Newburgh Streets. Footwear from Dr Marten, Nike, Converse and Puma; denim giants Levi's, Replay and Diesel; and contemporary labels such as ElevenParis and The Kooples all deal an eclectic mix to suit every man. Liberty, the iconic department store at the northern end of Carnaby Street, houses the latest collections from premium brands such as Alexander McQueen, Acne, Kenzo and Valentino in its basement.

SAVILE ROW

No other street in the world is as famous for menswear as Savile Row. Such is this fame, that the Japanese word for the man's suit is 'sabiro'. When said out loud, it's not hard to land on a possible origin.

Since the late 18th Century, British tailoring's home has been on the Row and has dressed kings, princes, prime ministers, movie stars and rock stars from here and around the world. Today, relative newcomers such as Alexander McQueen and Ozwald Boateng sit together with iconic names from centuries past - Gieves & Hawkes, Henry Poole & Co, and Kilgour - to make a rich mix of heritage and modernity. Some of the oldest occupiers, such as Norton & Sons, helmed by this year's BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund winner Patrick Grant, are also being brought bang up-to-date, rejuvenated by friendly competition and youthful directors.

Why is it still so popular? Why is it still relevant? Who still buys bespoke? The argument will always be there, but as long as there are offices, weddings, and men wanting the best tailoring that money can buy, there will be always be Savile Row.

MAYFAIR

Mayfair has burst, through necessity more than anything, from its Bond Street confines - Europe's most expensive retail location - and whole new areas to rival it have sprung up. Dover Street - home to Christian Louboutin, Dover Street Market and Acne Studios - has established itself as a new fashion go-to, also attracting womenswear icons like Victoria Beckham.

A stone's throw away is Mount Street, the picturesque retail gauntlet where Marc Jacobs, Loewe, Balenciaga, Pringle and Christopher Kane - the Scottish wunderkind's only store - all vie for attention. Predominantly womenswear offerings, the stores on this street don't make their menswear too visible, which makes it seem more fun, like a secret you have uncovered in Loewe's basement that's yours for the taking (Amex permitting). Dissecting Mount Street towards its west end, South Audley Street is home to Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rick Owens and, the most high profile London store opening of this year, Balmain.

MARYLEBONE

Since the opening of hotelier André Balazs's first UK outpost, Chiltern Firehouse, in 2013, there has been a buzz about Chiltern Street in the "village" of Marylebone. But long before the stars descended, the street, and its neighbouring Marylebone High Street, had already started to bring in a more discreet clientele.

Trunk Clothiers curates menswear from Japan, Europe, America and the UK - from Mackintosh to Comme des Garçons - while their eclectic accessories and lifestyle shop further along the street, Trunk LABS, caters to those finishing touches. One of only two Club Monaco menswear-specific stores is here, sitting alongside Chiltern Street native Grey Flannel which offers a selection of brands including Giorgio Armani and a made-to-measure service.

"The Chiltern Firehouse has made the area not only a high-profile destination for Londoners, but one known by international visitors," says Sunspel's owner Nicholas Brooke, whose store is at number 13. "From this, The Monocle Cafe and others have also set up, and have made the street truly vibrant and special."

COVENT GARDEN

Perhaps the place a London guide book is most likely to tell you to visit - and admittedly this is the reason that most Londoners avoid it - is Covent Garden. The Punch & Judy shows and other forms of street performance torture however are more widely advertised than the fashion hotspot that has found its home in the tourist haven.

Long Acre, Covent Garden's high street, has a buzzing and charming atmosphere, carrying British staples like Reiss, Ben Sherman, Barbour and Original Penguin. One street down, an inconspicuous lane, Floral Street, provides British menswear classics Paul Smith and Ted Baker, as well as Orlebar Brown, where you will realise that you have have been wearing the wrong swim shorts your whole life.

Nestled in the streets surrounding the main Piazza, and just the next ones down from Floral Street, are some of London menswear's most desirable retail outlets. On King Street, a standalone Brit store, Burberry's more casual and affordable line; the UK's only outpost of multifaceted designer mecca Opening Ceremony; Sandro, owned by French giant LVMH which also owns Louis Vuitton and Dior, has its flagship store here; and heritage brand Hackett.

Running out of space on these streets, labels are moving on to the next one, Henrietta Street. The last year has seen Fred Perry and Nigel Cabourn move in, and the opening of luxury footwear and clothing brand Oliver Sweeney's new flagship when it relocated from King Street to larger premises. "We've had a store in Covent Garden for many years and we love the diversity of the area," Tim Cooper, Oliver Sweeney's cobbler-in-chief told us. "As well as the many tourists, there's a fascinating mix of businesses - everything from long-established investment companies to start-up creative agencies - that makes it such a vibrant place to have a store."

It seems that the next in succession - bearing in mind the one-after-the-other expansion of shops on Covent Garden's streets - will be to sit alongside Ruffians Barbers, which sits behind Henrietta Street on Maiden Lane. The multi-award-winning barber shop and store - a favourite among the male fashion pack - provides exceptionally trained staff and full-service experience in classically stylish surroundings, including a whisky and coffee bar, to unwind and complete your look once the shopping is done.

BLOOMSBURY

Set back from the main road through Holborn, Lambs Conduit Street is turning a usually bookish Bloomsbury into a sanctuary for a relaxed and considered shopping experience. Oliver Spencer, Folk, Grenson, Private White V.C., a men's only J Crew, Universal Works and multibrand Content - stocking the likes of Nike, Barbour and Y.M.C. - are condensed into a small but perfectly formed menswear assembly.

"Lambs Conduit Street is a real hub of home-grown menswear designers," a spokesperson for Oliver Spencer told us. "The close-knit Bloomsbury community spirit is definitely something that attracted us to the area when we first moved here, and something that we still thrive on today. There's no other street in London quite like it."

"Deciding on store locations at Aesop is always about balancing the energy of the location, its community and the commercial potential." Daniel Bense, Aesop's UK manager added. "With Lambs Conduit Street, we were attracted by the strong menswear offer but it was more the like-minded approach of retailers like Oliver Spencer, Folk Clothing and Universal Works that really cemented this for us. Add to this a good wine merchant, café, traditional pubs, a flower shop and publishing house and there isn't much more you need. Fashion conscious men are generally well groomed men and these are undoubtedly our customers."

EAST LONDON

Like most things in London, if you want to find the newest and coolest, you have to go east. Menswear stores now line Spitalfields market on Commercial Street, such as Topman's General Store - housing the brand's more premium lines and specially selected brands - Hackett, Albam and Fred Perry. A short walk away, behind Shoreditch High Street and the pool-topped Shoreditch House, lies Redchurch Street. Menswear favourites A.P.C., Nudie Jeans, Sunspel and even a men's-only outpost of American retailer Club Monaco have set up shop here. In addition, barbershop Murdock sits alongside Aesop, an Australian skincare brand that has gained a cult following amongst well-heeled (and groomed) gentlemen, unifying the masculine destination.

"Redchurch Street and the Shoreditch area reflect the range of our customer uniquely," explained Nicholas Brooke, owner and CEO of Sunspel. "There's a strong community, with Shoreditch House and Mother across the way and so many designers and artists based in the East End, but then the City is also within walking distance. We've recently refreshed and expanded our Redchurch Store, which is a testament to the success we've had there and the fact the area is becoming such a destination."

East London's anything goes attitude has resulted in some of the most daring attempts at retail, including Box Park on Shoreditch High Street, the pop-up mall housed in shipping containers that proves bigger isn't always better. Further afield, LN-CC (Late Night Chameleon Cafe), the appointment-only concept store set under an unassuming office block in Dalston stocks brands such as Rick Owens and JW Anderson in arguably London's most impressive retail space designed by Gary Card. LN-CC's founder John Skelton is "giving customers an insight into the world of LN-CC which is more than just a store that sells clothing, it's a unique and individual expression of the brand".

MULBERRY chairman Godfrey Davis asserted today that the company is "looking forward with some optimism" ahead of the arrival of new creative director Johnny Coca at the brand on July 8. Although still relatively grim reading - with profits before tax down to just £1.9 million from £14 million in 2014 - the figures have taken a turn for the better in recent months (retail sales rising 10 per cent in the 10 weeks up to June 6), and Davis is sure that is set to continue.

"There are no surprises in these figures," Davis told us as the figures were released this morning. "We updated the market in April and if anything current trading figures are a welcome surprise. The strategy we've adopted is working, and our core UK customer is responding, with business much improved in the second half, and even more so in the last quarter."

The shift in strategy, implemented in the earlier part of the year, involved increasing the leather goods offering under £1,000 - and looking at that product carefully. Gone are sombre colours and bags priced in the thousands, replaced by a return to the old Mulberry spirit of accessibility and fun.

"From a fashion perspective, we've had to be more creative," Davis explained, "with more colour; bags that are more cheerful and interesting. We've fine-tuned the product offering and become more disciplined, with a focus on bestsellers. We realised we needed to populate the collection in the under-£1,000 area, because we realised we had lost sight of the fashion and lifestyle element of the brand, so we've addressed that. Last year, we had nearly 60 per cent of the collection at the higher pricepoint, so customers were being bombarded by the more expensive bags when they looked at the website or came into a store, even though the lower-priced bags were there. Now we've increased the under-£1,000 offering to more like 70 per cent, and by spring/summer 2016, there will be 80 per cent."

Although Coca doesn't start his role for almost a month, Davis is confident that the team will work well together, revealing that he, Coca, and new CEO Thierry Andretta have spent some time together for a "settling in period" and that during the interview process, they focused on "checking out that they were all on the same page".

Hiring an accessories designer has caused many in the industry to speculate that the label's ready-to-wear - once a focus of growth for the company - will fall by the wayside, giving way to the leather goods which account for "90 per cent of the group's sales". Not so, says Andretta.

"The future of Mulberry will be international growth," Andretta told us, "and to succeed in international expansion you cannot be a category brand. Shoes and ready-to-wear are crucial, and must be completely aligned in terms of aesthetic as well as pricing. With ready-to-wear it is important to be able to express ourselves, but it's too early to say whether this will mean a catwalk show. We'll take time to get things right."
